Cookie Cake - Hunger Games Birthday

After having donated the Fall Festival cookie cake, I had a request for a birthday cookie cake, which I delivered today.  16 inches of milk chocolate chip cookie and frosting goodness:

It was fun to make and I hope I can continue to expand my horizons as far as designs go!  Trying to draw a replica of the Mockinjay pin from "The Hunger Games" was no easy feat!!!

Cookie Cake - Ranger School Motivation

We got to see Cameron for 12 hours today, so I made a double-layer cookie cake with a layer of frosting in between two 12-inch cookie cake layers to keep him motivated through the rest of Ranger School:

Mmm!!!  SOOO good!!!  :)

Cookie Cake - Lots of Love

I had leftover icing from the Dexter Fall Festival cookie cake and chocolate chip cookies in my pantry, so I decided to use my ingredients and make a cookie cake for Cameron...even though he's in Ranger School and won't actually be having any...sometimes Mommy needs a cookie and this was just an excuse to have my cookie and eat it, too!  Hahaha!

Cookie Cake - Dexter Fall Festival 2012

This is my fourth time making a cookie cake and I am still in LOVE with the concept!!!  It's my favorite type of dessert to make so far.  It's so easy to decorate and...who doesn't love a chocolate chip cookie?  :)

YUM!!!

Cookie Cake - I Built It!

We were invited to a Labor Day BBQ and when I asked if there was anything I could bring, the hostess told me, "dessert!"  So I went with it!  What could possibly be a better way to celebrate Labor Day than a "political cookie?"  :)

It was very popular among our soldier friends!!!

Cookie Cake - Odette's 2nd Birthday

My second attempt at a cookie cake was not as great as I'd hoped...I was too rushed.  I had been under the impression that it had taken me less time to decorate the cookie cake when I made Alegria's, but I was mistaken.  The overall effect was sloppier than Alegria's cake and I felt bad about that...poor Odette seems to get "second best" again.  :(  I'm so sorry, Odette!  I really didn't mean to do it that way!

To top it off, I attempted to incorporate the drawing into the "Happy Birthday" lettering and didn't notice until my sister pointed out, that the antenna on the butterfly made it look like it says, "Bir 'f' day."  Sheesh!

So sorry Odette!  Next time it will be better!  I promise!!!  :)

At least it was still SOOO delicious!!!

Cake - Birthday: Big Book of Boo-Boos, Doc McStuffins Medicine Bag

The theme for Alegria and Odette's combined birthday party this year was "Doc McStuffins," a fairly new Disney Junior show that the girls LOVE!  So the party was all about it!  For the cake I decided to go with a larger-than-life size replica of Doc's "Big Book of Boo-boos" (triple chocolate chunk cake for Alegria's sweet tooth, of course!), and a replica of Doc's medicine bag for Odette (white cake and rice crispy treat for the top).

Sooo good!!!

Cookie Cake - Alegria's 4th Birthday

I decided to start a new tradition.  Since the girls always get a huge "real" birthday cake on the day of their birthday parties and there are always leftovers and I don't want leftovers from even more cake from their actual birthdays, the perfect solution was: cookie cake!  And here's what I came up with:

I was quite happy with the end result!!!

MMM-MMM!!!

Cake - With Cookies: Farewell Friends

I was out of time and out of steam and so this cake did not quite turn out the way I was hoping.  Note to self - don't ever use gel writers on cake...it runs!  I should have colored some frosting and piped it to letter my cake.  Oh well.  That's what happens when you run out of time and make a cake too fast!

Oh well!  It was still extremely delicious!!!

Cake - Baby Shower: Lamb

I think this is my favorite shaped cake so far!!!  I was finally able to smooth the fondant really well over the entire cake!!!  And the decorations were so simple!!!  I'll let the pictures do the talking:

The cake was a hit!
